You Can Help Build4Life

Life expectancy for Cystic Fibrosis Patients in other European Countries and in the United States is in the 40’s and 50’s with many living healthy and productive lives well into their 60’s.

With your help Ireland can be in this league as well.

Ireland has the Highest Incidence Rate of Cystic Fibrosis in The World and one of the lowest life expectancy rates for Cystic Fibrosis Patients.

Cystic Fibrosis Patients can be in serious threat of infections on an ongoing basis, which results in many visits to hospital. At present Cystic Fibrosis Patients have to be admitted to hospital through A&E departments which leaves the Patients open to infections, which can be very dangerous.

There is an urgent need for dedicated Cystic Fibrosis Units in Cork University Hospital, so that patients can be segregated and the risk of cross infection greatly reduced. These units, which Build4Life/Cystic Fibrosis is fundraising for in Cork University Hospital will increase the life expectancy and improve the quality of life of the many Cystic Fibrosis Patients in the region.

25% of Irelands Cystic Fibrosis population attend Cork University Hospital and Build4Life/Cystic Fibrosis is the only charity funding these life saving facilities.

Please support us by organising a fundraising event and you too can help save lives.
